    Since Launching in early 2020 we’ve quickly become known as THE place to grab amazing frites, loaded fries, home-made milkshakes and more!

    Frites are more than just fries…

    Inspired by Belgium’s rich food heritage, Frites was created with one goal: to bring the authentic “frietcot-culture” to the heart of Scotland.

    We are the first, and only, truly authentic Belgian Fries in the country.

    Although fries are widely accepted simply as a side dish and are available in almost every cafe, restaurant & food kiosk in the world, the Belgians have elevated them to the level of a main event in their own right!

    WHAT MAKES FRITES SO POPULAR & DELICIOUS? LISTEN UP!

    It's the way they are prepared.

    The unique double-frying process ensures they are soft and fluffy on the inside, as well as crispy and crunchy on the outside.

    Last, but not least – it’s how we serve them. The famous cone-shaped paper bag represents the “frietcot-culture” & is instantly recognisable as being typically Belgian.

    Out of love for the humble potato, we went the extra mile with the sole aim of taking chips to the next level & making them a main meal that would deliver way beyond any side dish. As a result, our fully loaded dirty fries were born : a big box of Frites signature chips, accompanied by lashings of your choice of our delicious toppings. Ready to conquer any appetite!

    A Frites experience is much more than just a quick snack, we truly believe in what we do & endeavour to capture the spirit of Belgian street food in every cone.

    Once you’ve tried our fries, there’s no going back – you’ll have been bitten by the Belgian bug!

    GREAT PLACE! FRIES ARE DELICIOUS.

    Lots of sauces to choose from, most are gluten free and vegan. Went back for a milkshake later as well which was great. Staff very friendly and helpful about sauces etc.

    THE BEST CHIPS IN EDINBURGH!

    Frites are nice treat!

    We went for large portion of cheese bonanza and explosive tex mex. We both think it was massive, I recommend taking small portion each. If you fancy fries - go for it!

    Amazing!

    Amazing! Creative ideas for a simple potato! Had the Mexican special. Not too spicy with loads of topping. Cannot wait to go again when I visit Edinburgh.

    Great for gluten free coeliacs!

    Also the staff are never grumpy and will happily leave the salt off when asked!Really appreciate this and honestly they taste better saltless imo.

    Unbelievably Good !!!

    The chips are really crisp and there's a huge array of sauces and toppings. Milkshakes are awesome too! Can't go through town anymore without stopping here :)

    Never a disappointment

    Lovely chips. First time visiting last night on a recommendation, was not disappointed. I had Italian garden loaded chips, big portion I couldn't manage them all, they were delicious

    900 grams WOW
